Two lists,
both short.
One tin is a single ingredient. The other is the list you would use in your own kitchen. Neither needs a glossary.

Chicken. That's the list.
Sliced and dried slowly until it turns brittle enough to snap between two fingers. Time replaces chemistry, which is the expensive way to do it and the only way we were interested in.

Small batch chocolate chip cookies, baked crisp at the edge and chewy in the middle. Nothing in here would look out of place in a home kitchen.

Left out on purpose
The other list.
Everything below makes a treat cheaper, softer, or longer-lived on a shelf. None of it makes it better.
Glycerin
Keeps treats bendy on a long shelf. We would rather they snapped.
Artificial colour
Nothing in a dog treat needs to be a colour a dog cannot see.
Smoke flavour
Chicken already smells like chicken when you dry it properly.
Binders & fillers
They exist to stretch the ingredient that costs the most. That is the one we are selling.
Preservatives
Small runs and a sealed tin do the same job without a chemistry set.
Xylitol
Toxic to dogs, and it appears in more human snacks than people expect. Never in either tin.
Treats are a supplement to a complete diet, not a replacement for one. If your dog has an allergy, is on a restricted diet, or is recovering from illness, check the tin with your vet first.
